Law requires all food handlers in the state of California have a California Food Handler Card. New hires have 30 days from the date of hire to obtain a card.
A food handler is defined by law as a person who works in a food facility and performs any duties that involve the preparation, storage or service of food in a food facility.

There is a $15 fee to obtain your card.
Your CA food handler card belongs to you and is good at any job in CA where you are handling food.
Your card is good for 2 years from the date of issuance, and will need to be renewed once it expires.
Please upload your food handler card to your employee file, or let your supervisor know so it can be added to your file.
